We
often see those stepping movements in Odissi dance. By stepping on the
ground in order to thank the mother earth that supports us. With the
ankle ring on the lower leg, the dancer and musician together increase
and emphasize the rhythm of the music. To show the body with tribhangui,
and also give out the charming emotional expression with eye and
hands’ help. The dance is mainly about tribhangui; foot stepping goes
with the rhythm; hands, eyes and facial expression are the spirit of it;
and finally adds some fantastic character with the colorful folk
costume. From Mangalacharm to Mokshya, odissi dancers pass the
appreciation toward the earth, and also gorgeous dance.
